Antenatal Clinic

The antenatal clinic is led by the midwife and the doctor is available for consultation when necessary. Care is usually shared with the hospital. You can now access the midwifery service without a referral from the GP, simply contact the midwife on the maternity access number: 01743 261085 (leave your name and number)

Well Baby & Immunisation Clinic

The health visitor holds a regular clinic for weighing your baby and can offer general advice on any problems, contact the health visitors on 0333 358 3328. 

6-8 week checks (for babies) are held at the practice with the GP and our baby immunisation clinic is by appointment with the nurse. This is a crucial appointment as your baby will not be able to receive their first immunisations without this check. 

Family Planning & Contraceptive Advice

We offer a complete family planning service including advice on contraception. This is run by our Well Woman nurse by appointment only.  

Private Medical Examinations

These are available for Insurance, HGV and pre-employment purposes. A fee is charged based on the recommended published fee list from the BMA. Please ask at reception. More information can be found here

Minor Surgery

A minor surgery clinic this is for the removal of "lumps and bumps". Please discuss with your doctor who will refer you to this clinic if appropriate. 

 

Phlebotomy Service

Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust runs a local Phlebotomy (blood taking) service at multiple sites across Shropshire.

Family Planning

We provide a full range of family planning services including coils; caps and implanon. Please ask at reception for an appointment (which will be subject to availability at the time, given current pressures and demands on the Practice).

Health checks

A general health check is available as follows:

NHS Health check

  • aged 40-74 (no other conditions, every 5 years)
  • Well Woman
  • Well Man
  • aged 75 and over (for patients who has not seen a GP in the last year)

General checks will be carried out as follows:

blood pressure, blood tests (as appropriate), height and weight, lifestyle advice, tetanus status.

Travel Vaccinations

If you're planning to travel outside the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world. For more information please contact our reception team for an appointment with the practice nurse.
